Karen has a degree in fine art/ illustration from University of the Arts in Philadelphia. been an artist her whole life. After 20+ years of being a professional illustrator, she did some traveling and soul-searching before getting her apprenticeship under the very talented Jason Bradbury in Portland, Oregon & becoming a professional tattoo artist more than five years ago.
Since then, tattooing has become her passion. She is now the owner as well as an artist at Drawing Board Tattoo. Her favorite part of the job is seeing her art live on people forever, traveling with them, and moving and aging with them.
She describes herself as a versatile tattooer, and her favorite styles are traditional, illustrative, fine line, silly, and punk.
Karen loves to travel, watch funny 80s movies, and explore the mountains of Asheville.
